TravelBook is a digital platform connecting travelers with transport companies, operated in accordance with the laws of Burkina Faso. We provide no transport service of our own.
1. Purpose and acceptance
- Creating an account and using the app constitute full acceptance of these terms, in accordance with Law No. 045-2009/AN governing electronic services and transactions in Burkina Faso.
- Registration is reserved for persons at least 18 years old. Minors travel under the responsibility of their legal guardian.
- These terms may be updated; you will be notified by in-app notification or email, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
2. Traveler rights and obligations
- You warrant the accuracy of the information provided at registration.
- The ID document submitted must be genuine, valid and in your name. Using a forged document or one belonging to a third party is a criminal offense and results in account deletion and reporting to the authorities.
- You are solely responsible for keeping your credentials confidential; any booking made from your account is binding on you.
- Cancellations, refunds and rescheduling are governed by each transport company's policy.
- Failing to meet departure times is your responsibility; no refund is due for a missed boarding.
- Reselling or transferring tickets to third parties is prohibited.
3. Transport company obligations
- Companies publish accurate information about their trips, fares and schedules, and operate their lines in compliance with Burkina Faso's land transport regulations.
- Any delay over 30 minutes must be reported to passengers.
- The company ensures regular maintenance and technical compliance of its vehicles, as well as the mandatory insurance coverage of passengers.
- If a trip is cancelled by the company, affected passengers are fully refunded.
- Verifying passenger identity at boarding is mandatory.
- Any incident or accident must be reported to TravelBook within 24 hours.
4. Personal data protection
- Your data is processed in accordance with Law No. 001-2021/AN of 30 March 2021 on the protection of personal data, under the supervision of Burkina Faso's Data Protection Authority (CIL).
- For users located in the European Union, TravelBook applies the principles of the GDPR (Regulation EU 2016/679).
- ID documents collected are used solely for account verification and travel safety; they are never sold or transferred to third parties.

5. Payments and electronic transactions
- Payments are made via electronic money issuers licensed by the BCEAO (Orange Money, Moov Money, Coris Money, Sank Money), in accordance with WAEMU regulations.
- TravelBook stores no bank or mobile money data; providers comply with international security standards (PCI-DSS).
- Each transaction is timestamped and logged; an electronic receipt is available in the app.
- The electronic ticket (QR code) serves as a travel document once payment is confirmed.
6. TravelBook's responsibilities
- TravelBook is a connecting platform: we provide no transport service and do not act as a carrier.
- Seat availability shown is indicative and may change in real time.
- TravelBook reserves the right to suspend any account showing fraudulent activity or breaching these terms.
- TravelBook cannot be held liable for commercial disputes between travelers and companies, nor for damages arising from the performance of the transport.
7. Governing law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the law of Burkina Faso and, on a supplementary basis, by the OHADA uniform acts.
- In case of dispute, an amicable solution is sought first with TravelBook support, which responds within 30 days.
- Failing an amicable agreement, jurisdiction is granted to the courts of Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso).
- Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the user's country of residence remain applicable where more favorable.
